Doing an Auto Detailing DIY Project?
You want to get your
auto detailing done professionally, but you don’t want to pay what it costs to get the job done. We get it. Detailing your car can be expensive. The truth of the matter though is that it’s going to be nearly impossible for you to detail your car at the professional level. The types of equipment and chemicals are far beyond anything that you can buy at the store. It’s best to get your car detailed professionally, but if you can’t, here are a few tips that can help you to clean your car effectively.
1. Compressed Air and Scrub Brushes
Want to know how the pros clean that interior? The answer is a combination of compressed air and stiff brushes, which work together to get all of the dirt off of the carpet that you have in your car. You may really have to scrub with those stiff brushes, but if you’re using enough compressed air, you should be able to get it loose, even in the deeper parts, so you can vacuum it up. This is one of the easiest ways that you can clean that upholstery. The only tip is to not use water, which is just going to make the entire process gross.
2. Hand Wash
Hand washing your car is the only way to truly clean it. The only thing you need to look out for is making sure that the car wash soap that you use is actually car wash soap. That means you don’t just use the dish soap you have on your kitchen counter, or the weird hand soap that you have in the bathroom. You need to go to your local store and get an actual car wash solution. After you hand wash, if you want for your car to really shine, you should use a squeegee all over the surface. This will prevent leftover dirt and grime from remaining after the car wash.
3. Wax On, Wax Off
Protecting that coat of paint is one of the most important investments you can make in keeping that car looking amazing. That means that you’re going to need to take the extra time to get some waxing done. The wax on top gets worn down, instead of the paint when dirt and grime hits your car. Putting this layer between your paint and your wax is the only way to make sure that your car comes out looking great.
Professional Auto Detailing Is Best
If you’re really serious about making sure that your car is going to look great, you need to go to a professional to get the
custom detailing detailing job done. If you can’t swing it, you at least need to get some compressed air and scrub brushes to clean that interior, always go with the hand wash and squeegee afterwards, and then use reputable wax to protect the paint job on your car. If you do all of these things, your car will look great, and stay looking great.
